Welcome to Rags to Riches, and thank you for joining us on this journey! I have been in the beauty industry for over 25 years; I started as a technician working out of my house. As my business continued to grow, I purchased a spa not knowing that the previous owner was bankrupt! I financially turned it around, while adding additional space for a hair salon.

I quickly outgrew my space, and having one of my goals to own a building, I purchased a 16,000 square foot building, which is now the home of Luxe Salon, Spa, and Laser Center.

At this point, I was ready to start working on the business so I stepped away from being a technician. I hired and coached my team to reach their monetary successes! One of my biggest goals was to be an owner who worked on the business rather than in the business. I was ready to take another step, and my passion lead me to consulting. I consulted and coached salon and spa owners around the United States to take their businesses to the next level for over five years! I have always wanted to write a book and when the pandemic hit, I thought it would be a perfect time.

I knew that I wanted to reach as many people as possible to help inspire, coach, support, and give hope that our industry will bounce back! It is our mission to inspire a new generation of beauty professionals; due to the pandemic, 20% of salons and spas have closed their doors for good. Rags to Riches: The Business Behind the Beauty Icon, will be an asset to anyone currently in, or currently joining the beauty industry.

My book contains interviews from beauty icons, as well as assessments that will lead to advice and strategies. Readers will not only learn from the best in the industry, but this will allow them to self-assess to figure out where they are in the present, and how to get to where they see themselves in the future!
